The Bermuda Counsellors Association (BCA) is a non-profit, charitable
organisation...
...which evolved in March 1995 through the initiatives of a group of concerned counsellors.
The BCA is committed to the development and enhancement of the counselling profession
in Bermuda.
Goals
1. To establish guidelines for the delivery of professional counselling services in
Bermuda.
2. To collaborate, consult and coordinate with other helping professionals.
3. To provide and enhance professional development of counsellors through continued
education.
4. To respond to social issues and provide leadership on these issues.

- Ongoing study groups for credentialing. The National Board of Certified
Counsellors
Examination(s) set the standard for licensure and certification in the counselling
profession.
Membership
1. Voting Member: Professional members only.
2. Professional Member: Graduate degree or higher in counselling or
a closely related field of study from an accredited institution and a member or associated member of
an International Counselling Association.
3. Associate Member: Bachelor's degree in a social science area from
an accredited institution.
4. Student Member: Individuals who are enrolled as full or part-time
students in graduate or undergraduate counselling or social
science degree programmes recognized by the BCA or by an accredited body from the country
of study. Student membership is for the purpose of affiliation and guidance and holds no rights or
privileges as ascribed to professional and associate members of the Association.
5. Honorary Membership: Officers of the BCA, at their discretion, may
name anyone as an Honorary Member, as long as their interest and activities are consistent with
those of the Association.
